President and CEO, CQCD
Léopold Turgeon has always worked in the retail industry. Early in his career, after working for a few different companies, he realized he was cut out to be an entrepreneur and that he had a strong interest for the retail industry.
Following his management studies, he joined the ranks of Loto-Québec and would remain with the company for twenty-seven years. His mandate as Assistant General Manager of the Sales and Business Relations Directorate came to an end in 2012. Passionate about retail, highly skilled, and driven, he was naturally considered for the position of CEO of the Commerce québécois du commerce de detail, a position he has been holding since January 2013. This new role was the natural continuity of a career essentially focused on commerce and results.
Léopold Turgeon is without a doubt a passionate and dedicated person who always had the best interests of retailers and the retail industry at heart. His professional activities include sitting on the board of directors of the Conseil du Patronat du Québec and on the standing committee for regulatory streamlining, acting as Co-President of the board of directors of Détail Québec, and sitting on the steering committee for the Stratégie partenariale de promotion et de valorization de la langue française (partnership strategy for the promotion and enhancement of the French language).
In 2016, he was presented with the Public Service award by Montréal Centre-Ville, which recognizes the drive and leadership of a person in the public or institutional sphere, and a remarkable contribution to the promotion and reputation of Montréal.
