Jean-François Bergeron is passionate about business. Before being appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of the Société québécoise du cannabis, he spent four years as Vice-President, Information Technology, at the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ), where he made an impression. His main duty: to support the development and execution of the company’s ambitious business plan by providing strong technological and strategic leadership. A well-developed sense of entrepreneurship also enabled him to successfully guide the start-up of the SQDC.
Jean-François Bergeron began his career as Manager, Information Technology, at Cascades. From 2006 onward, he served as Vice-President, Information Technology, at several companies. In 2014, he assumed worldwide responsibility for all IT-related operations and activities at WSP Global. Previously, he had been Vice-President, Information Technology, and Chief Information Officer at both Astral Media and Kruger.
A manager with more than 20 years’ experience, Jean-François Bergeron has a thorough understanding of IT management in the manufacturing, retail, telecommunications and professional services industries. In particular, he oversaw supply chain operations and information technology at Kruger Tissue Group UK for three years.
Building on his experience in implementing technology strategies, ERP systems and organizational transformation, Jean-François Bergeron has had a rich and varied career that has given him a broad understanding of organizations, an understanding he has productively used in carrying out his many mandates to develop and transform organizations.
Jean-François Bergeron holds a bachelor’s degree in information management.
